Postcard to Preston will culminate in an exhibition at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery in April 2016. There will also be a publication that will record this project that will be free all those that take part.
This work had been funded through an Arts Council England Grants for the Arts and Preston City Council Cultural Framework grant.
The Harris Roll of Honour is just one of hundreds of memorials across Preston, ranging from stone monuments to stained glass windows. None of these memorials are definitive, they relied on the families of the soldiers to submit their names, and as such there will be soldiers who are not remembered anywhere.
